French Quarter evangelism
One of the most exciting aspects of Declaring Truth Ministries is our time magnifying Christ in the French Quarter! The French Quarter is the most famous historic neighborhood in New Orleans known for its architecture, restaurants, shops, bars, and strip clubs. Locals come to party hard and the tourists come to get a taste of the world-renown Mardi Gras. Every weekend, there is a tremendous amount of tourists from all around the world visiting Bourbon Street out of sheer curiosity. It's the thing to do in NOLA. What an opportunity to preach Christ crucified from the Holy Scriptures to all the nations!
Several times throughout the year, oftentimes scheduled around big events, the DTM outreach team members declare the Gospel of Jesus Christ at the corner of Bourbon Street & Canal Street. This is a great opportunity for believers to join the team and labor alongside us.
We are in need of fellow laborers to distribute Gospel tracts and initiate Gospel conversations "with those who happen to be there." (Acts 17:17) You can expect to meet people from all walks of life with diverse worldviews such as Atheism, Agnosticism, Roman Catholicism, Islam, Nation of Islam, Black Hebrew Israelites, Jehovah's Witnesses, and more. Festivals such as New Orleans Pride, Southern Decadence, Essence Festival, Voodoo Fest, and Jazz Fest bring thousands of lost souls into the French Quarter year round.
One fascinating fact about the Gospel is that God has ordained that the elect are saved for all eternity when they hear the Good News communicated by flawed people and believe it. In other words, the means by which men call upon the Lord to be saved is hearing the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ preached.
For “everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”
How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed?
And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard?
And how are they to hear without someone preaching?
And how are they to preach unless they are sent?
